About the Owner

Originally from Spokane, Melanie moved here in 1989 to attend WWU and fell in love with the area. She and her husband live on a 5-acre hobby farm raising registered Shetland sheep. They also have 2 kids, 2 border collies, and 2 cats.

What inspired SideHustle Designs?

“While playing with my camera, I came across some awesome graffiti art. It was so cool that I wanted to celebrate it. Using clothing as the canvas became the perfect solution. Later, I followed with some of my own drawings based on things I enjoy in life or that simply make me smile.

I am excited to see where this adventure takes me and would love to see my designs expand nationally, and perhaps even internationally.”   Melanie Barrett
